We pulled four TikTok Shop brands from public data. Makeup, hair, and vitamins. Together they sold over $30 million in six months. Five problems showed up in every one. Your shop likely has a few of them. This is what we’d look for.
Brands find one idea that works. Then they run it into the ground. Look at this vitamin brand. They used the same idea over and over. One video got 5.3 million views and made $113K. Another got 2.45 million views and made $121K. A third got 4.41 million views and made just $88K. More views stopped meaning more money. The idea wore out.

Here’s the holiday version of the same thing. This makeup brand made $9.81M. But look at the chart. One big spike in December. Flat ever since. The win didn’t last, and nothing took its place.

Most brands think a bigger account means more sales. The data says the opposite. This hair brand’s best creator had only 9,010 followers. She made $423,360. That’s about $47 for every follower. The brand’s own account has 295,000 followers and earns far less per follower. Big reach isn’t what sells. A small, loyal audience is.

This is why small creators win. One video in this makeup shop got 788,000 views and made $83,640. Another got 13.15 million views and made $100,790. Sixteen times the views. Barely more money. Views tell you who watched. They don’t tell you who bought. Most brands pick creators on views alone. That’s the wrong number.

This vitamin brand sells a lot to men. Men’s 30+ made $714K. Men’s 40+ made $369K. That’s over $1.08 million. But almost every video targets women, in Spanish. Not one is made for men. Men are buying with no help at all. Picture what happens when you finally talk to them. That money is just sitting there.

I looked at three brands of different sizes. Same problem in all of them. This hair brand’s own account made $149,600. Its creators made $5.13 million. That’s 3% versus 97%. TikTok treats brand accounts like ads and creator accounts like real content. So the brand’s voice gets buried and the creator’s voice gets pushed. Your best ad shouldn’t sound like an ad.

Same story with the makeup brand. Its account has 2.9 million followers. It makes just 6% of sales. The creators make 89%.
